Calgary Food Bank: Amble With Angus

Early morning runners hit the pathways

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Dec. 7, 2012) - Celebrating its 11th anniversary on December 14, Amble with Angus, a 5km fun run, supports the Calgary Food Bank.

WHAT: Amble with Angus, a 5km fun run

WHERE: The Arches at Eau Claire Market, 200 Barclay Parade SW, Calgary, AB

WHEN: Friday December 14, 7:30 a.m.

WHY: To raise food, funds and awareness for the Food Bank's Children's Milk Program

The creative force behind Amble with Angus is Angus Cowan. In 2010, Angus ran for a grueling 25 hours straight. In the last hour, he was joined by 400 Amblers. It was a great success, raising more than $44,000.

This early morning run, walk or roll is an important opportunity for raising not only food and funds but awareness of the Calgary Food Bank and our Children's Milk Program. With hundreds of runners converging on pathways along the Bow River, we're hard to miss!

We are excited to announce that Amble with Angus will be adding a second 5km Fun Run in the city of Edmonton this year, on Tuesday, December 18.

We encourage Calgarians to join us. Run, walk or roll - cover the 5km any way you'd like. Just don't miss it! Let's make 2012 the best year ever! To register online, visit http://calgaryfoodbank.akaraisin.com/ambleincalgary2012.
