CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Dec. 1, 2014) - 'Tis the season - it's here. Thanks to the generosity of Calgarians, the majority of our fundraising is done through events in the month of December. See below for a chance to witness the goodness of people in our community.

18 Wheels of Christmas

Join us at 3 different locations over the course of the next month to watch Calgary fill the 18 Wheels of Christmas truck trailer with non-perishable food items.

  • Saturday, November 29th at Walden Save On Foods - 155 Walden Gate SE
  • Saturday, December 6th at Seton Save On Foods - 19489 Seton Crescent SE
  • Friday, December 12th through Monday, December 15th at Panorama Save On Foods - 225 Panatella Hill NW
    • Featuring Can Man Dan, who will camp out in the trailer for the full four days to raise awareness about the importance of feeding Calgary's hungry, especially in the cold winter months.

Knox United Carol Festival

Knox United Church - 506 4 St SW

Saturday November 29th, Sunday November 30th, and Monday December 1st at 7:30PM

The annual Knox United Carol Festival will bring together some of Calgary's best choirs to delight your ears with holiday-themed songs. Admission is free and donations to the Calgary Food bank are gratefully accepted.

CBC/Suncor Holiday Food Drive Launch

CBC Calgary - 1724 Westmount Blvd NW

Monday, December 1st

Suncor Energy will officially launch this year's Drive with a $50,000 contribution to the Calgary Food Bank! Announcements will be made on air and live at CBC Calgary to get the donations rolling in for the annual food drive.

Tuesday, December 2nd

Watch as teams from Suncor, PWC, and Brookfield build holiday themed creations out of canned food. The finished design will become part of the main floor building décor at Suncor Energy Centre. All food items used for the construction of this event will be donated to the Calgary Food Bank

Upscale Bake Sale

The chance to stock up on delicious holiday treats is here. The generous bakeries will be donating their product, and all proceeds from the sale will go to the Calgary Food Bank. Come and enjoy some of your favourite treats from your favourite bakeries, including: Julie Van Rosendaal, Jenny Howe, Buttercream Bake Shoppe, Decadent Desserts, Yann Haute Patisserie, Olivier's Candies, Brulee, Sidewalk Citizen Bakery, Simple Simon Pies, Sunterra, Wilde Grainz Artisan Bakery, and Brou'ne.

Join Calgary marathoner Angus Cowan for a 5km fun run. Entry fees and donations support the Calgary Food Bank Children's Milk Program. This pre-sunset event involves hundreds of energetic runners!

AMA "Fill our Fleet, Fill Their Hearts" Wrap-up Event

Come down to see an AMA truck loaded up with food donations to the Calgary Food Bank and toy donations to the Magic of Christmas. Santa will be there as well as AMA personnel to create a human chain.

Canadian Pacific Holiday Train

The spectacularly lit up Canadian Holiday Train is making its stop in Calgary! Spectators of the event will be entertained by The Odds and Jim Cuddy. The concerts are free, but donations to the Calgary Food Bank are encouraged.

The Calgary Motor Dealers' Association has been collecting donations at each of their dealerships, and the Food Bank benefits. Come down to see the parade of donation deliveries and a bit of a forklift ballet in the Food Bank Warehouse.

The Huron Carole - A Musical
