Calgary Food Bank: Fun Run Putting the Boots to Hunger


CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - July 2, 2015) - The Angus Cattle Run is an annual 5k fun run in support of the Calgary Food Bank's Children's Milk Program and a great way to express your Stampede spirit while helping families in need.

Running in cowboy boots is a common sight at this event! Participants express their western spirit and dress up as cowboys, cowgirls, western zombies, rodeo clowns, horses, and even cattle! Prizes will be awarded to the runners with the imaginative and artistic costumes.

The Angus Cattle Run is one of the fundraising events for Put the Boots to Hunger, a food and fundraising drive held during the ten days of Stampede. The inaugural run in 2013 raised more than $10,000 for the Moo Juice Program, providing milk and baby formula to women and children in low-income households.
