Calgary Food Bank Pleased to Announce the Driver for the 2016 Put the Boots to Hunger Campaign

CALGARY, AB--(Marketwired - March 18, 2016) - The Calgary Food Bank is pleased to announce that their campaign sponsor, Burnet Duckworth & Palmer LLP (BD&P) has once again secured GMC Rangeland Derby driver Gary Gorst for the ninth annual Put the Boots to Hunger™ food and fundraiser.

Pivotal to the success of this initiative is the donation of BD&P's chuckwagon tarp to the Calgary Food Bank. The generous investment is part of the annual Put the Boots to Hunger™ campaign held during the ten days of the Calgary Stampede. Each night a different business sponsors the Put the Boots to Hunger™ chuckwagon tarp and all funds raised contribute to a successful fundraising venture for the Calgary Food Bank.

In 2015, the Put the Boots to Hunger™ campaign raised over $340,000 in food and funds between tarp sponsorship and Food Bank involvement at many stampede breakfasts and barbeques. Since its inception in 2008, the campaign has raised nearly $3.5 million in food and funds for Calgary Food Bank initiatives.

The Put the Boots to Hunger campaign began in 2008 to help raise food and funds at a time when the Calgary Food bank typically sees a dip in donations. For more information on the campaign, programs and services, visit www.calgaryfoodbank.com.
