Calgary Food Bank Scores With Five Hole for Food

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - July 5, 2011) -


What: Five Hole for Food is helping the Calgary Food Bank feed hungry Calgarians. The 2nd Annual Five Hole for Food street hockey game is part of Put the Boots to Hunger – an annual campaign supporting the Calgary Food Bank.
Who: Richard Loat, road hockey enthusiast and mastermind behind Five Hole for Food is driving across Canada to play street hockey in 13 cities in 17 days. The money he raises benefits local food banks in the communities in which he plays.
When: Five Hole for Food will arrive in Calgary this afternoon

Where: 200 block of Stephen Avenue - outside Flames Central
Why: This is a coming together of fans and of hockey teams in each of the local cities at the NHL, AHL and ECHL level to promote a food drive the likes of which this country has never seen before! In Calgary, all funds will benefit the Calgary Food Bank.
The trip spans a period of 17 days; the first ball was dropped in St. John's on June 23 before travelling west to Halifax, Charlottetown, Saint John, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Regina, and now Calgary. Five Hole for Food will make three more stops after today's game in Calgary: Edmonton, Victoria and Vancouver.
