Calgary Herald Profiles Vector Marketing Division Manager for Outstanding Community Service

CALGARY, AB--(Marketwire - January 18, 2011) - As profiled in a December 23, 2010 article in the Calgary Herald titled, Kindest Cut Nets Service Award, Vector Marketing division manager Angie Macdougall was recently awarded the Marty Domitrovich Award for Community Service. According to the article, the presentation was made at the company's Strategic Leadership Conference in San Diego. The article stated that the award is given in memory of one of Vector Marketing's most esteemed leaders, and is presented each year to the person/persons showing outstanding contributions to their communities. This is the first year the award has been presented.

The article profiled Macdougall, a mother of two who runs all of Vector Marketing's Western Canada offices, for her many local activities, including:

  • The Calgary Breast Cancer Run.
  • Delivering food, clothing, and other goods to the Calgary Drop-In Centre for the homeless.
  • Teaching parts of the Smiles 101 class at the University of Calgary Haskayne School of Business, which incorporates the Cutco selling model into its senior level sales course. Students at the school donate proceeds of sales to the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.
  • Serving on the Board of the Front Row Foundation, an organization that provides people facing life-threatening illnesses with "front row" tickets to major events.
  • Spearheaded an effort in her Vector Marketing offices which resulted in donations of $16,000 to the Children's Wish Foundation.

Among the people quoted for the article was Joe Cardillo, National Sales Manager of Vector Canada.

The 61-year-old Cutco Cutlery sells its products through a national network of college students who sell through in-home personal demonstrations. These students learn a wide range of entrepreneurial skills that can benefit them with Vector and other careers. These skills include time management, presentation making, working for commissions, and customer service.
