Calian's SED Division Wins a New Contract Valued at $15 Million

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 18, 2011) - Calian Technologies Ltd. (TSX:CTY) is pleased to announce that its Systems Engineering Division (SED) has signed a contract with VT iDirect Inc. (iDirect) for provision and installation of antennas and RF Systems for Inmarsat's new Ka band Global Express Program. The baseline contract is valued at near $15 million USD over a 42 month period.

iDirect has been selected as the prime contractor for the ground system to support Inmarsat's new Global Express VSAT service. Inmarsat has contracted the delivery of three state-of-the-art Ka-band satellites that will enable the company to deliver a unique global high-speed mobile broadband service offering.
