PASADENA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 25, 2007 -- The historic California Art Club will present its much-anticipated annual exhibition of contemporary-traditional fine art, the 96th Annual Gold Medal Juried Exhibition, at the Pasadena Museum of California Art from April 29 to May 20, 2007.

This extensive exhibition will present nearly 300 new works from the nation's leading traditional fine artists, spotlighting sculpture as well as paintings of genres ranging from quintessential California landscapes and seascapes to figures and still life. "In presenting the Gold Medal Exhibition, we continually strive to raise the bar for contemporary-traditional fine art," said American landscape artist Frank M. Serrano, chairman of the Gold Medal Exhibition. "We are enthusiastic about unveiling the artwork selected for this year's event, as its quality surpasses that of last year's exhibition, which attracted record crowds," he added.

Among the 170 artists juried into this exhibition are a number of internationally acclaimed artists, including Meredith Brooks Abbott, Peter Adams, Béla Bácsi, George Carlson, Calvin Liang, Jeremy Lipking, Kevin Macpherson, Daniel W. Pinkham, Gayle Garner Roski, and Mian Situ.
