California School Administrators Honor Armanino McKenna Partner

Vintage Foster Receives Partners in Educational Excellence Award

SAN RAMON, CA--(Marketwire - April 28, 2009) - Vintage Foster, president of AMF Media Group, a communications and strategic media consulting firm, has received one of the highest annual honors of the Association of California School Administrators (ASCA) for his work in providing scholarships for students from low income families around the Bay Area.

Foster, who is the recipient of the ASCA's Partners in Educational Excellence Award, is the founder of the Bay Area Leadership Foundation (BALF), an organization that provides scholarships and enrichment opportunities for high school students. He was nominated by Dr. Joseph Ovick, superintendent of schools, Contra Costa County Office of Education.

The Partners in Educational Excellence Award is given to programs or organizations that have sustained a positive impact on student achievement and learning and for effective collaboration between education and community leaders who come up with innovative approaches dealing with complex challenges in public education.

His nomination cited Foster's leadership through BALF which has "helped students achieve their educational goals and dreams in spite of financial obstacles. He has shown that a partnership between business leaders and education can have a positive impact on the lives of young adults."

BALF works with college bound high school students in the East Bay cities of Oakland, Pittsburgh, Richmond, Vallejo and San Jose.

"I am deeply honored to have been selected for the Partners in Educational Excellence Award," Foster said. "Our young people are up against many obstacles as they attempt to achieve their goals in education, and so I'm very gratified whenever BALF can help to remove or lower some of those barriers."
