Call for Speakers Issued for GLOBALCOMM 2006 by TIA

ARLINGTON, Va.--(CCNMatthews - Sep 15, 2005) -

October 14 Deadline Set for Proposals to Address Three Regional Global Communications Summits and Innovation Summit at June 4-8 Next-Generation Communications Marketplace in Chicago

The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) today announced its call for speakers for GLOBALCOMM™ 2006 programming. The next-generation communications marketplace and summit will be held June 4-8 at Chicago's McCormick Place. "We're seeking experts and dynamic speakers who are driving the latest innovations in the global information and communications technology industry," says TIA President Matthew J. Flanigan.

The deadline for submission of abstracts covering GLOBALCOMM's four summits is October 14. The summits will focus on the Americas, Europe-Middle East-Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific, as well as "innovations" -- the latter featuring presentations by new and emerging technology companies. The summits will be held June 5-7, the same days as the exhibition.

"Become a presenter at the debut of GLOBALCOMM™ and join 20,000 of your peers from 100 countries at the ICT industry's most important annual gathering. We already have sold more than 85 percent of the 200,000 net-square-foot exhibition showcasing global information and communications technology solutions," Flanigan reports.

Content for the summits will range from global business opportunities, Internet protocol (IP) television and voice over IP, to enterprise communications solutions, next-generation networks, disruptive technologies, standards, regulations and ICT case studies. Submissions also are sought on wireless, broadband, network security, emergency communications, fiber-based solutions, and cost and quality control for service providers.

TIA has developed a program submission guideline available at http://www.globalcomm2006.com/event/cfs/. The overall Web site for the event is www.globalcomm2006.com. For additional details on GLOBALCOMM™ programming, contact Lacey Caldwell, TIA's director of content and education, at lcaldwell@tiaonline.org.

Flanigan states GLOBALCOMM™ 2006 also will feature 450 exhibitors, free keynote addresses and panels, paid conferences by the International Engineering Consortium and other organizations, and collocation with OSP EXPO, the Outside Plant Exposition and Conference. He notes for TIA, GLOBALCOMM™ replaces SUPERCOMM® as TIA's principal event.
