Callidus Software Named to Software Magazine's 28th Annual Software 500

Software Magazine Ranks Callidus as One of the World's Largest Software Companies for Sixth Consecutive Year

PLEASANTON, CA--(Marketwire - October 1, 2010) -  Callidus Software Inc. (NASDAQ: CALD), the leader in Sales Performance Management (SPM), today announced its inclusion in Software Magazine's Software 500 ranking of the world's largest software and service providers. The company has ranked in the top half of the list for the last six years.

"The 2010 Software 500 results show that revenue growth in the software and services industry was healthy, with total Software 500 revenue of $491.7 billion worldwide for 2009, representing virtually flat growth from the previous year," says John P. Desmond, editor of Software Magazine and Softwaremag.com. "The Software 500 helps CIOs, senior IT managers and IT staff research and create the short list of business partners. It is a quick reference of vendor viability. And the online version, to be posted soon at www.softwaremag.com, is searchable by category, making it what we call the online catalog to enterprise software."

Despite unprecedented upheaval in the overall global economy, Callidus Software has continued to place high in this ranking, demonstrating that its sales performance management proposition is potent enough to make investment in the solution set mission critical both in periods of economic growth and volatility. The solution provides value to its customers by delivering insight into the principal levers that drive specific sales results, and providing the tools to optimize those results throughout the sales talent lifecycle, from on-boarding, to field deployment, to incentives and rewards, to talent development.

"We are extremely pleased to be included in the Software 500 for yet another year, our sixth in a row," said Lorna Heynike, senior vice president, marketing at Callidus Software. "This is a testament to the strength of the combination of our ongoing customer success, product innovation, and business process outsourcing excellence, coupled with the growing market momentum for driving more effective sales performance with sales talent lifecycle management solutions. These solutions deliver significant returns for our customers by harnessing team-based and individual commissions, MBOs, discretionary bonuses, and non-cash rewards to profitably drive specific goals in the sales force and partner network, dramatically reducing uncertainty in predicting and delivering on top-line corporate targets."

Callidus Software's SPM suite manages the entire sales talent lifecycle from on-boarding, to incentives and rewards, to talent development, while providing visibility into sales operations and financial performance. This gives customers the ability to align their sales force and channels with their key business objectives to consistently and reliably execute on sales targets. The software is used by leading companies in a broad range of verticals including high-tech, telecommunications, banking, insurance, and pharmaceuticals. Since its inception nearly 15 years ago, the company has evolved into the most experienced, proven, and reliable SPM vendor in the marketplace. Callidus Software manages over $50 billion in incentives and compensation for more than two million payees in over 140 countries.

The Software 500 ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2009. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. The financial information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Co. and posted at www.softwaremag.com, as well as from public documents. It is being released first in the digital publication, to be distributed in late September.
