Callinex Appoints VMS Expert James R. Pickell to Technical Team


VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Oct. 19, 2015) - Callinex Mines Inc. (the "Company" or "Callinex") (TSX VENTURE:CNX)(OTCQX:CLLXF) is pleased to announce it has appointed renowned VMS expert James R. Pickell to the Company's Technical Team. Mr. Pickell has over 40 years of experience in base metal exploration within the Flin Flon district that has led to the discovery of four producing mines, including HudBay's nearby 777 Mine. In 2001, Mr. Pickell was awarded with the PDAC Bill Dennis Prospector of the Year award for his instrumental role in the discovery of the 777 mine. The Company regards Mr. Pickell as one of the world's foremost VMS experts and that he will have a significant role in advancing the Company's new VMS discovery.

Mr. Pickell has reviewed all drill core from the summer 2015 program and has made important contributions that have increased the Company's geological understanding in the Sourdough area of its Pine Bay Project. With further contributions from Mr. Pickell, the Company anticipates completing a 5,000 to 10,000 meter drilling campaign in 2016.

With the addition of Mr. Pickell, the Company's Technical Team now includes three PDAC award recipients who have collectively been instrumental in the discovery of three of the four largest mines to ever be discovered in the Flin Flon Belt, namely Trout Lake, 777 and Lalor.

Mr. James R. Pickell

A geoscientist with over 40 years of Canadian and International exploration and mining experience, including within the world-class Flin Flon Greenstone Belt of Manitoba. During his previous tenure with HudBay from 1971-2004, his work led to the discovery of economic base metal deposits within the belt including Namew Lake, Callinan North, Konuto Lake and the giant 777 mine. In 2000, he was awarded with the PDAC Bill Dennis Prospector of the Year award for his role in discovering the proximal 777 mine. From 2004 to 2009 he served in an international capacity for Anglo American Plc and was focused on evaluating and reviewing base metal projects across the Americas, Europe and Africa. Since 2009 he has served as the President of Orca Geosciences Ltd., where he has provided geological consulting services to international base metal producers including MMG (China MinMetals Corp), Vedanta Resources and Trevali Mining Corp. Mr. Pickell is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia.
