Calling All Jimmy John's Fans: Jimmy Is Giving 100 Bones and a Dime for Your Best Jimmy-Rhyme

CHAMPAIGN, IL--(Marketwire - October 21, 2010) -

  • Jimmy gets a lot of fan love on Facebook, with an over 436,000 strong following and counting. So, he's giving that love back with the "Your Jimmy-Rhyme™ Contest."
  • The best "Jimmy-Rhymes" will be awarded with "100 bones and a dime" ($100.10). Why? Because it's a throwback to the original Jimmy John's, that in 1983 sold its sandwiches for 2 bones and a dime.
  • Jimmy's first advertisement was written by Jimmy John himself and was the first Jimmy-Rhyme: "No zits, no pits, no day old bread. No grease, no fries, great subs instead!"
  • Besides 100 bones and a dime, the best Jimmy-Rhymes have the chance of being plastered on a billboard as a part of the next advertising campaign.
  • A couple examples of Jimmy-Rhymes:
    • "Ben met Anna, swapped some spit. Forgot her sandwich, Ben-Anna split."
    • "When you're tummy's extra needy, we'll deliver extra speedy."
  • The Your Jimmy-Rhyme Contest Rules:
    • The contest began on Wednesday, October 13 and ends Friday, November 12.
    • A Jimmy-Rhyme should be short and sweet and must be all about the Jimmy John's brand, whether it's catering, sandwiches, delivery, speed or online ordering.
    • The rhymes will be judged on passion for the brand, creativity and overall appeal.

  • "In 1983, I served coke with no ice and my sandwiches cost two bone$ and a dime. I'm giving 100 bone$ and a dime for your best Jimmy John's Rhyme! A Jimmy-Rhyme is a make-you-laugh-til-you-cry-and-make-your-mouth-water-for-Jimmy-John's kinda rhyme! Enter as many rhymes as you want on our Facebook page. Tell your pals and give it a try!" -- Jimmy John Liautaud, founder of Jimmy John's.
