CallTower Offers Free Voice-to-Text Service to Unified Communications Customers

New Service Powered by Yap Allows Users to Read Voice Mail Messages as Emails or Text Messages

FOSTER CITY, CA--(Marketwire - November 17, 2010) - CallTower, the market-leading provider of Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS), today announced that it is partnering with Yap to offer voice-to-text service to CallTower's unified communications customers. Voice to text is now offered free to CallTower's new and existing UCaaS customers.

The fully automated voice mail-to-text transcription service is a powerful productivity tool. Transcribed voice mail messages can be read quickly, shared with co-workers via email on a computer or smartphone, and archived for future reference.

"Voice to text provides a better way for users of CallTower's UCaaS service to access and manage their voice mail," said Bob Barnes, executive vice president of sales, marketing and business development, CallTower. "Once voice mail messages are converted to text they become a very effective real-time communication tool, much like IM and email. We are pleased to work with Yap to bring this service to our customers who will enjoy the flexibility and options it provides."

Automated voice to text for voice mail allows users to:

  • Read messages in a fraction of the time it takes to dial a voice mail box or navigate tedious touchtone menu systems.
  • Read and respond to voice mail in a text format via email or text message.
  • Maintain privacy with completely automated transcription.
  • Share voice mail messages converted to text with others. Messages are also delivered with a sound file in case it is necessary to listen to understand tone or emotion.
  • Use Outlook searching capabilities to find historic voice mail messages.

"CallTower customers will appreciate the convenience and flexibility of converting voice mail to text for real-time communications," said Igor Jablokov, CEO, Yap. "Yap's accuracy rivals those that rely on human intervention and the transcriptions are delivered instantaneously and securely."
