Calumet, MDU Bet on Bakken Shale With 20,000-Barrel-per-Day Joint-Venture Refinery, an Industrial Info News Alert

SUGAR LAND, TX--(Marketwired - Aug 11, 2014) - Dakota Prairie Refining's 20,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Dickinson project in North Dakota is scheduled to be brought online in the fourth quarter of this year, making it the first of what could be multiple small, grassroot refineries designed to process crude oil from the Bakken Shale. The project is 75% complete, according to by Calumet Specialty Products Partners (NASDAQ:CLMT) (Indianapolis, Indiana), which owns Dakota Prairie Refining with MDU Resources Group Incorporated (NYSE:MDU) (Bismarck, North Dakota). Its estimated cost has been revised to $350 million from $300 million.
