Cambridge Associates Hires Business Development Director for Canada

Jason R. Stefanelli to Focus on Canadian Defined Benefit Plans That Can Benefit From Cambridge's Fiduciary Management and Alternative Asset Solutions

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Jul 29, 2014) - Cambridge Associates, the independent global investment advisor to institutional investors and private clients, has appointed Jason R. Stefanelli as Director, Pensions and Global Business Development. His mandate is to bring the firm's resources and investment solutions to Canadian institutional investors, particularly pension plans.

Mr. Stefanelli joins Cambridge Associates from Common Sense Investment Management, LLC, in Portland, where he was a partner. He was previously a vice president of business development of Wellington Management Company LLP in Boston and a principal at State Street Global Advisors in Toronto.

Said David Druley, Cambridge's Global Head of Pensions, "Canadian defined benefit plans are concerned with two competing goals -- lowering risk and not destroying future returns. These challenges are particularly difficult in this low-return environment, and the solution requires creative, high value-add solutions. We are delighted that Jason Stefanelli will help us bring Cambridge's unique solutions and approach, which we have been implementing across the globe, to additional plans in Canada."

Mr. Stefanelli holds a B.Adm in finance from the Algonquin College School of Business in Ottawa. Jason has spent his entire investment management career working with institutional investors across Canada. He is also a member and former Treasurer of the Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute (CPBI).
