Cambridge Broadband Networks Cleans Up

Cambridge Broadband Networks Named Fastest Growing Larger Company at Cleantech Connect Awards 2010

CAMBRIDGE, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Nov. 19, 2010) - Cambridge Broadband Networks, the microwave network specialist, has been awarded the "Fastest growing larger company" at this year's Cleantech Connect Awards held in London. The company was initially invited to present its VectaStar point-to-multipoint backhaul solution to a panel of judges including Jigar Shah, CEO, Carbon War Room and Richard Youngman, Managing Director Europe, Cleantech Group with the award confirmed at a ceremony held on Wednesday night.

"Mobile backhaul is one of the most critical elements of any mobile network, but it is also power hungry and resource intensive. As a company, we took a conscious decision to better equip our customers with a backhaul solution that not only exceeds the demands placed on mobile networks by data traffic, but also one that significantly reduces power consumption and is efficient in its use of resources," commented Graham Peel, CEO, Cambridge Broadband Networks.

Developed using point-to-multipoint architecture, operators deploying VectaStar backhaul networks require half as many radios as the legacy point-to-point equivalent with significant increases in sector capacity and throughput. As a result Cambridge Broadband Networks is the market leader in point-to-multipoint technology and, at a time when mobile operators are distinctly aware of the need to upgrade their networks, VectaStar offers a flexible, cost-saving solution with a cleantech edge.

Organised by leading investment bank GP Bullhound, with Schroders Private Banking as a premium sponsor, the Cleantech Connect awards celebrates innovation and growth within clean and green technology with this year's events being held at Sketch.

"The Cleantech Connect award has rounded off a tremendous year of growth for Cambridge Broadband Networks, having recently been named in the Deloitte Fast50, TechTrack100 and named a distinguished honoree at the Stevie Awards," Graham Peel concluded.
