Cambridge Catering Continues to Help Displaced Residents on Staten Island

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Dec 13, 2012) - Manhattan-based corporate caterer Cambridge Catering, from the moment Sandy struck, mobilized to help those in need.

"Like all New Yorkers we were shocked by the magnitude and level of devastation caused by what is being called the storm of the century. We looked at the areas that are in the most critical need of help and deployed our efforts to Staten Island. We set up a kitchen at the corner of Midland Avenue and Moreland Street," said Philip Misseri of Cambridge Catering.

Cambridge Catering, no stranger to disaster response, partnered with Ground Zero Food Services in the days after the attacks on the World Trade Center. Taking the lessons learned from that experience we are helping others in this recovery effort.

Cambridge Catering is working with groups, providing management expertise to maximize the coordination of various group efforts that have until now struggled with logistics and coordination. Cambridge reached out to Federal Express® and had a refrigeration truck brought on site so donated perishable foods will remain unspoiled.

Partnering with S.T.A.R. (Small Town America Responds), Cambridge Catering continues to provide food to be cooked at the S.T.A.R. kitchen and distributed to the residents of Staten Island.

To date, we have donated over $75,000 in food and materials. We are currently seeking help from others to assist us in continuing to provide hot meals to people displaced by super storm Sandy. To find out how you can help or to reach us directly, visit us on the web at
