Camden County Hunting Preserve & Luxury Home to Sell in Court-Ordered Absolute Auction

WAVERLY, GA--(Marketwire - September 30, 2010) - A 769-acre Camden County hunting preserve and luxury marsh-front home will be sold in a court-ordered absolute auction Thursday, Oct. 28, with John Dixon & Associates marketing both properties and conducting the auction.

The land, known as Gowrie Island Hunting Preserve, is home to abundant wildlife and includes a bunkhouse and cabin. The property is almost completely surrounded by the waters and marshes of Gowrie Creek, which connects to the Atlantic Ocean, according to John Dixon, president of the Marietta-based auction company. "This provides for some incredible scenery as well as excellent fishing. There are two stocked fishing ponds on the property. It also may be eligible for conservation tax credits," he said.

Also selling in the auction will be a three-bedroom, four-bath home overlooking Dover Creek and the Satilla River in Waverly. "This home has some gorgeous craftsmanship, including antique heart pine flooring that was reclaimed from a cotton mill built around 1800," he said.

Online bidding will begin for both properties on Saturday Oct. 23, and a live auction will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28. Each property will sell to the highest bidder, whether online or live.

Auction representatives will be available at both properties for inspections Sunday, Oct. 17, and Sunday, Oct. 24, from 2 to 5 p.m.
