Camiant Named a Policy Control Leader in Infonetics Research Worldwide and Regional Market Share, Size and Forecast Report

Policy Server 2013 Revenue Expected to Hit Nearly $1.3 Billion; Report Cites Camiant's Strong Success With Larger Operators Who Are Looking for Policy Specific Expertise and Scalability

MARLBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwire - April 22, 2009) - Camiant, Inc., the leading provider of policy control and application assurance technology, today announced it has once again been named a market leader by Infonetics Research, this time in their April 2009 Worldwide Policy Server Market Share, Size and Forecast report.

Key findings from the report indicate the market is moving rapidly beyond the early adopter phase and the policy server market will continue to grow in the high double-digit percents annually reaching $1.3 billion by 2013. According to the report, managing accelerated bandwidth consumption and pricing resources are the biggest drivers for policy server demand. Other drivers include the need to enhance and differentiate an increasing number of applications and the enabling of bandwidth guarantees for specific services and branded content. Infonetics sees long-term policy control growth driven by LTE deployments.

In the report, Camiant is noted for having taken a classic, best of breed, pure-play approach to policy management, which is a key differentiator in a world of broad product families.

"Camiant built its strength in the cable market but has won multiple mobile customers as of late," said Shira Levine, directing analyst, Next Gen OSS and Policy, Infonetics Research. "Camiant has had strong success with larger operators who look for policy specific expertise and scalability."

Camiant has broad market share in North America and a growing list of international fixed and mobile customers. The company recently announced that it is first to market with its Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Release 8/ LTE compliant Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) that will be used in commercial LTE deployments starting in 2009. Camiant's wide Tier 1 customer base across Fixed and Mobile networks is a significant differentiator from the competition and provides it with a solid foundation from which to innovate and grow.

"Infonetics Research clearly indicates the shift in the market and the increase in demand for policy control as operators look to address bandwidth control and differentiate their service offerings," said Susie Kim Riley, Founder and Chief Technology Officer for Camiant, Inc. "Camiant's recognition by Infonetics Research underscores our dedication and continued commitment to be the industry's most technologically advanced best of breed offering."
