Camping in Ontario-This Weekend: 70% Chance of Sunshine, Highs of 25 degrees-Lots of Campsites Available in Ontario

MARKHAM, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 19, 2008) - With the temperatures finally starting to go up, and the wet weather holding off, it's a great time to go camping in Ontario. Whether you want to go tent camping, RVing or are looking for a cabin or cottage to rent, there are lots of choices close to home.

"With rising gas prices and the cost of living going up, camping is still an inexpensive option for a family vacation." explains Beth Potter, Executive Director of Camping In Ontario. "A family of four can camp for under $70 for the weekend. Add in the low cost of cooking over a campfire, access to recreational activities and amenities found in campgrounds and you can see why camping is a great way to vacation with your family."

Camping In Ontario represents close to 500 independently owned and operated campgrounds across the province, many within a 90 minute drive of an urban centre. Each campground offers a unique mix of recreational activities and amenities, often free with the price of your campsite.

There are still lots of campsites and camping cabins/cottages available for this weekend and for the upcoming Canada Day long weekend. "Many are taking advantage of the stat holiday being on a Tuesday and making next weekend a four-day break," continues Potter. "We are happy to say that they can still find a great campsite or camping cabin, close to home, where they can enjoy the extra long weekend."
