Campus Advantage's Award-Winning Renewal Marketing Campaign Drives Stellar Results

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - Apr 11, 2016) - Only a few months into 2016 and Campus Advantage properties are already 2,301 leases ahead of last year and seeing a 9.3 percent increase in walk-in traffic thanks in part to two award-winning marketing campaigns conducted by the Catalyst marketing firm.

"We continue to surpass our renewals goals," said Mike Peter, president and CEO of Campus Advantage, a leading student housing company. "That says a lot about the value and the benefits residents receive by choosing to live at one of our properties. Our general managers and property staff focus on customer satisfaction from the day residents move in. Not only does that mean that residents decide to renew but they also encourage their friends to live at our properties."

Campus Advantage's marketing efforts also have helped drive renewal rates up 7 percent over last year. As a result, the program developed by Catalyst won recognition from the Internet Advertising Competition (IAC), which is sponsored by the Web Marketing Association and recognizes marketing campaigns from some of the world's top agencies and brands.

Catalyst won the following IAC awards:

  • 2015 Renewal Campaign-Outstanding Integrated Ad Campaign: This renewal campaign was used for more than 30 Campus Advantage properties across several U.S. markets.
  • 2015 Cyber Monday Campaign-Best Real Estate Integrated Ad Campaign: Catalyst created a Cyber Monday campaign and collateral for Campus Advantage that resulted in 780 leases and put the portfolio 40 percent ahead in renewed leases from the previous year and 76 percent ahead in new leases. This is the second year Catalyst has taken the top spot for this category.

"We have found great success in implementing integrated marketing campaigns that include various media channels for a number of student housing management firms, including the Campus Advantage portfolio," said Jamie Matusek, vice president of Catalyst. "The student demographic wants information on their terms. We create messaging that speaks to students and guarantors where they are and develop fun ways to deliver it, tracking every lead that interacts with each marketing component."

Meanwhile, Campus Advantage continues to add to its portfolio of properties. So far in 2016, the company has acquired or is in the process of acquiring more than 2,000 beds and over $135 million in total assets. It also has letters of intent out to purchase an additional 2,900 beds worth over $170 million. The company currently manages more than 40 properties with approximately 25,000 beds in 34 markets and 22 states.

"We expect total 2016 acquisitions to be the largest in CA history with over $300 million," said Michael Orsak, senior vice president of investments for Campus Advantage.
