Canada Post Identifies New Location in Downtown Saskatoon

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - Sept. 12, 2007) - Following the sale of the old Post Office building, Canada Post will continue to provide retail services in downtown Saskatoon. The Corporation has announced a lease agreement to establish a new corporate retail outlet at 215 Ontario Avenue, less than five blocks from the current location.

The new retail location will open in late October. All existing products and services offered at the current location will continue to be available at the new location. Hours of service will remain unchanged. All existing Post Office Box customers will retain the same box number and address at the new location and there will be no change of address or postal code. Service will continue to be available at the Post Office building on 4th Avenue until the day the new location opens.

"When V-Com purchased our old facility, Canada Post made a commitment to maintain service in downtown Saskatoon," according to spokesperson Malcolm French. "This lease agreement is the next step in fulfilling that commitment."

"The transition will be virtually seamless for our customers," French said. "When we make the switch, the old location will shut down at close of business on a Friday, and the new location will open on Monday morning. There will be minor disruption to Post Office Box access on Sunday."

The current Post Office building was sold in 2006. All remaining Canada Post mail processing functions will move to the Saskatoon Mail Processing Plant on 51st Street during the Fall, once renovations are complete.
