Canada Post: Winter Storm May Cause Delays in Mail Delivery to Parts of Eastern Canada

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 10, 2008) - A major weekend snow storm in Ontario and Quebec has presented several challenges for Canada Post to move mail throughout Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada.

Highway 20 in Quebec remains closed and trucks carrying mail into Atlantic Canada are stuck in Montreal until the highway reopens. Currently rural delivery in Ontario, rural and urban delivery in Quebec and delivery of mail in Atlantic Canada originating in Ontario and Quebec is expected to be delayed.

Once roads reopen and the snow is cleared, Canada Post will make every effort to deliver the mail as quickly as possible.

While we are proceeding as quickly as possible with the snow removal at our community mailboxes, it will be a few days before the situation is back to normal.

We thank our customers for their patience.
