Canada's First Business News Radio Station Set to Launch in Toronto

1280AM CFBN (Canadian Financial and Business News) Radio will offer exclusive Canadian market content and TOP international programming

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - March 26, 2007) - Newsroom Productions Inc., under engagement by the GTAA, will launch Canada's first business news radio station serving Toronto and surrounding areas and all Canadians on-line at cfbnnews.com on April 9th, 2007. CFBN will be managed by Newsroom Productions Inc. thru its division CBN (Canada's Business Network), a Toronto based radio syndication company that currently produces content for radio stations across the country including "The Fred Ketchen Report" and "Weekends with Sheila Copps".

"Business is a missing format in Canadian radio, which is surprising because we really have everything else. Our stock market is strong and reaching new highs on a regular basis; there's never been a better time to launch this type of station", said Bryan Woodruff, President and General Manager of Newsroom Productions Inc. "CFBN will be more than just numbers and stock quotes, we will offer a business news perspective on everything - from political and social issues to world and international events"

The station will bring EXCLUSIVE analysis from CFBN's Chief Market Analyst Fred Ketchen and Top international programming to its audience from the world's' leaders in business news including CNBC and The Wall St. Journal. The station will also air exclusive market reports and programming from India and China, further enhancing the uniqueness of the format.

Rounding out the stations daytime programming will be the Canadian introduction of popular US radio and TV personality Glenn Beck. "His radio show is heard on 100's of stations in the US, he does a show on CNN and is part of Good Morning America. I can't think of a better personality to represent the issues facing Canada's largest trading partner", said Woodruff. "We are also very excited to add popular comedian and Talk show host Dennis Miller to CFBN's daytime line-up. His unique sense of humour and insight into US and world events will be refreshing for listeners".

Corporate disclosure will also play a key role in CFBN's programming. The station will carry content from CCNMatthews (Canada's leader in corporate disclosure) and its US-based subsidiary Market Wire who together represent one of the world's dominant distributors of company press releases and financial news announcements, thus enabling easy and immediate access to news releases on-air, on-line and across other delivery platforms. "Providing our audience immediate access to company news, from the company, mixed with our exclusive editorial content will help level the playing field for amateur investors. It will also give professional investors access to information when outside of the office", said Woodruff.

CFBN will also be creating a special series titled "The Business of...". These 4 part - one hour series will offer a very different perspective into various non-traditional business issues. The special series will begin with 4 topics: "The Business of Sex"; "The Business of Dieting"; "The Business of Marijuana"; and "The Business of Charity".
