Canada's "Greenest Cities of Tomorrow": Vancouver, Yellowknife, Okotoks, Calgary

Municipalities leading the way to sustainability identified in the Spring issue of Green Living

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 9, 2009) - Yellowknife, Okotoks and Greater Sudbury, among other cities, may not have the populations or budgets of big urban centres such as Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto, but when it comes to sustainability they have something equally as important: big thinking.

The Spring issue of Green Living speaks to a wide range of environmental and sustainability experts, as well as green municipal leaders, to identify and analyze Canada's "Greenest Cities of Tomorrow". These are cities on their way to becoming world-class centres of sustainability over the next five, 10 and 20 years.

You can also find out which cities, despite their best efforts, are lagging behind.

Other feature articles of note in the Spring issue of Green Living include:

"20 Ways to Green Your Life for Under $20". Get a rundown of 20 budget-smart eco tips for everyone-that cost a mere $20 or less.

"How Would You Spend $1,000 to Save the Planet?" Green Living gets advice from a dozen environmental leaders-from Michael Pollan to Nobel Peace Prize-winner Wangari Maathai to Sarah Harmer-on how to spend a grand to green the planet.

With this issue, Green Living is pleased to introduce our new editor, Lindsay Borthwick, formerly of Seed and Best Health magazines, and to unveil a new design and editorial direction.

Lindsay Borthwick is available to discuss these stories and all things environmental throughout April (Earth Month).
