Canada's Healthcare Leaders to Embark on Pathways to Innovation and Change on June 6th and 7th 2016 in Ottawa

OTTAWA, ON--(Marketwired - May 12, 2016) - More than 700 hospital and health policy experts will converge in Ottawa for the National Health Leadership Conference (NHLC) on June 6th and 7th and confront pressing issues that are driving the need for change in the healthcare system.

When: Monday and Tuesday, June 6-7, 2016

Event highlights:

  • A national snapshot on Canadian's worry index about the existing healthcare system will be unveiled along with insights on public opinion regarding several other important health and healthcare issues (the report will be released under embargo on Friday, June 3, 2016).
  • The Honourable Jane Philpott, Minister of Health will open the conference speaking about the federal government's health and healthcare priorities, on Monday, June 6 at 8:30am.
  • The Great Canadian Healthcare Debate: Healthcare leaders and hospital CEOs will debate the top 3 motions aimed at making a significant impact on the health system and creating lasting pathways to innovation and change. Jeffrey Simpson, National Affairs Columnist for the Globe and Mail will moderate the debate.
  • Plenary speakers and panelists include Dr. Helen Bevan, Chief Transformation Officer for UK's National Health Service, Dr. Danielle Martin, Vice-President Medical Affairs & Health System Solutions at Women's College, Sharon Nettleton, Co-chair of Patients for Patients Safety Canada, Chris Power, CEO of the Canadian Patient Safety Institute and Jeremy Gutsche, CEO of Trend Hunter Inc.
  • More than 30 concurrent sessions and poster presentations will galvanize the community around the importance of stimulating transformation and improvement while creating a "change culture" of continuous improvement.
