Canada's Innovative Geomatics Entrepreneurs and Start-Ups to Exhibit Leading Edge Geospatial Technology and Developments at the TECTERRA Geomatics Showcase 2015

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - June 24, 2015) - Today, geomatics professionals from across Canada will join together to exhibit the latest developments in geospatial applications at the TECTERRA Geomatics Showcase 2015, which will be held at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre.

More than 60 of the country's leading entrepreneurs and start-up companies, along with three of Alberta's post-secondary institutions that have been supported by TECTERRA will have the opportunity to feature their cutting edge and state-of-the-art geospatial technologies. This event will mark TECTERRA's biggest Showcase to date, with an anticipated number of over 600 business people in attendance.

TECTERRA, a Calgary-based not-for-profit organization is a geomatics technology innovation support centre that provides assistance for Canadian entrepreneurs and small to medium size enterprises through their suite of investment programs.

The Government of Canada invested $6 million towards TECTERRA's purchase of specialized equipment which geomatics companies have accessed and used to develop new products and services for the market.

The Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, will open the Plenary Program this afternoon.

"The important connections generated through today's tradeshow will help boost the productivity and competitiveness of the rapidly growing geomatics sector."

Nolan Bushnell, world-renowned entrepreneur and founder of Atari Inc. and Chuck E. Cheese Pizza Time Theater will be the keynote speaker for the event. Bushnell will take the audience through his experience and entrepreneurial journey that has led him to his international success as one of the founding fathers of the video game industry and the founder of more than 20 companies.
