Canada's Labour Minister Holds Economic Consultations in Winnipeg

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwire - Jan. 18, 2011) - Today, the Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada's Labour Minister, held an economic consultation with stakeholders in Winnipeg to discuss job creation, economic growth and emerging trends and challenges in the workplace.

"Our government's first priority is the economy, and discussions like today's help us focus our efforts during Canada's fragile economic recovery," said Minister Raitt. "Hearing directly from our stakeholders about their own economic priorities, issues and concerns will help us secure jobs, promote growth and build a stronger foundation for our economic future."

This discussion is part of ongoing consultations with stakeholders across the country. In addition to fostering an open dialogue on the leadership necessary to create safe and productive workplaces across Canada, these economic consultations are helping to secure the country's economic future.
