Canada's Largest One-Stop Eco-Store to Open in Ottawa in September

Ottawa Entrepreneurs Combine Forces to Make Buying Green Easier

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 21, 2012) - Two Ottawa residents-Steve Kaminski, a serial entrepreneur frustrated by the difficulty of buying green products, and Bill Stewart, a retail guru with a passion for customer service-have combined forces to fulfill their vision of making it easy to be green, by bringing the widest selection of eco-friendly consumer products under one roof.

When it opens, terra20 (www.terra20.com) will become Canada's largest one-stop store (15,000 sq.ft.) entirely dedicated to green merchandise, carrying more than 12,000 products from cosmetics to home décor items, and everything in-between. The first terra20 store is scheduled to open September 15 at the Pinecrest (Ikea) Shopping Centre in Ottawa.

"Green has hit the mainstream. People want to buy more environmentally friendly products, but are not always sure where to go or who to trust. Until now, there hasn't been a singular eco-friendly department store. terra20 fills that gap, offering a huge range of tried and tested products at a tremendous value," says Mr. Stewart, terra20 president. "We're committed to creating a unique retail experience, which inspires a better, more sustainable way of living."

terra20 will feature:

Green Products - With more than 12,000 products in store, including clothing, lighting, office supplies, housewares, cosmetics, toys and more, consumers have one-stop access to the widest selection of eco-friendly products. Special icons will help customers to easily spot items that are energy efficient, fair trade, organic, made in Canada, and more.

ecobar - the largest refill station in North America for common cleaning products.

Personalized Service - All staff members are highly trained to be knowledgeable about products and vendors.

Vendor Interaction - Vendors will participate in feedback sessions and in-store product education sessions.

Modern, Eco-Friendly Design - The store will incorporate recycled or sustainable building products, low VOC paint and efficient lighting. iPads throughout the store will provide instant product and vendor details.

Community - The terra20 website, www.terra20.com, will provide extensive information on vendors, products, and lifestyle. It is designed to be a community hub, to encourage people to share their green experiences and to discuss products. terra20 will actively engage with its customers on Twitter (@exploreterra20) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/exploreterra20).

terra20 is seeking great green-minded retail associates who want to help customers explore a better way to shop. The terra20 store will employ 22 store operations staff members.
