Canada's Stephen Patterson cast as Laurie in Little Women U.S. Tour

Attention: Arts/Entertainment Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 23, 2005) - Stephen Patterson, most recently seen on a Toronto stage as Bobby Strong in CanStage's production of Urinetown has accepted the role of Laurie, the boy next door, in the 1st National Tour of Little Women - The Musical. American audiences may remember Steve from the role of Marius in both the Broadway and Touring companies.

Little Women completed its run on Broadway on May 22/05, starring 'It Girl' Sutton Foster and Broadway great, Maureen McGovern. McGovern headlines the touring company as it plays the largest stages in the United States. The production is directed by Susan H. Schulman, who guided the 1998 revival of The Sound of Music and the 1990 revival of Sweeny Todd to Tony Awards, and was honoured with a Best Direction nomination herself for the latter. Steve is thrilled to be a part of the 1st National Tour of this beloved story with such an established Director and respected cast.

The 1st National Tour of Little Women - The Musical opens on August 30, 2005 at the Civic Theatre in San Diego, CA.
