Canada's Top Students to Attend Impacts Annual Banquet

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 17, 2006) - The Impact Organization's annual Leadership Conference kicked off this afternoon to a large crowd of Canada's top high school and university students. This year's conference will feature over 25 industry speakers, a Think Tank event, Industry exhibition, networking events and evening socials for Canada's entrepreneurs and student leaders. The Impact Banquet will retain its Friday evening time slot at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on November 17, 2006.

With a focus on business and entrepreneurship, the Impact Organization has chosen top students from across the country to meet with distinguished industry leaders at the banquet. Guests will hear from the first female winner of Donald Trump's hit NBC television show "The Apprentice" Ms. Kendra Todd. Todd will be delivering the keynote address and announcing the winners of the Impact Apprentice competition which was hosted in downtown Ottawa from Sept.26th-29th.

Opening Remarks will be made by University of Waterloo's President, David Johnston and the evening will be emceed by Global Television's Weekend News Anchor, Robin Gill. Also present will be Marc Kielberger of Free The Children as his organization will be featured for this year's Charity Silent Auction. Free the Children is the world's largest network of children helping children through education. Last year, the Impact Organization was able to raise over $5,000 for Engineers Without Borders and is hopeful to do the same for Free The Children.

Impact will be recognizing four student leaders at the banquet, based on their success to launch a venture with a product or service. The Impact Awards are as follows: Impact Innovator of the year, Impact Entrepreneur of the year, Impact Social Entrepreneur of the year and the Impact Student Leader of the year. Each of the recipients have been nominated by peers or industry colleagues and will receive their awards following Todd's keynote address.
