Canadian Alpine Ski Teams Adopt COLD-FX® to Help Keep Them in Peak Health to Win Medals in 2010

Canada's ski racers partner with country's #1 Cold/Flu remedy

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 12, 2009) - The Canadian Alpine Ski Team today announced that it has chosen COLD-FX as its Official Cold and Flu Remedy to help give its ski racers a new competitive advantage in their pursuit of Olympic Gold.

Alpine Canada Alpin President Gary Allan says, "Our athletes have a gruelling schedule on the road including a lot of travelling in Europe and throughout North America. COLD-FX will provide our athletes with a competitive advantage by ensuring that they remain as healthy as possible in the midst of cold and flu season as they pursue Olympic Gold."

Dr. Jacqueline Shan, president and Chief Scientific Officer of CV Technologies says the company has associated itself with Canada's top athletes for many years. "We've been associated with Olympians as well as players in the NHL and CFL for many years now. This is our way of trying to help all of our Olympic athletes reach the podium in 2010. It's only eleven months away and we want to help keep them in peak health."

The two-year partnership includes a financial investment and provides COLD-FX to Canadian ski racers throughout the summer training period and competitive winter season.

Alpine Canada Alpin is committed to finding unique partnerships and expanding our marketing efforts to ensure that our athletes have the resources required to win, said Allan.

The agreement makes COLD-FX an Official World Cup partner and makes the product available to fans attending the Bombardier Lake Louise Winterstart as well as other domestic race events.

COLD-FX, a unique extract from the ginseng root, is marketed as a daily defence against colds and flu by Edmonton-based CV Technologies Inc. It has been approved by Health Canada to help reduce the frequency, severity and duration of cold and flu symptoms by boosting the immune system.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, COLD-FX will be provided to VANOC for its use. In addition, COLD-FX will be available at general stores within the Olympic and Paralympic Villages in Vancouver and Whistler during the 2010 Winter Games.
