Canadian Armed Forces Conduct Training in Coleman Township, ON

COBALT, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Feb. 2, 2015) - Approximately 100 members of The Algonquin Regiment, Canadian Rangers, and Army Cadets will be performing winter survival training in Coleman Township in the areas of Gillies Lake and Bass Lake near the town of Cobalt from 6-8 February, 2015.

Training will include ice-fishing, cold water rescue, fire starting, improvised shelters, history and leadership training.

Soldiers will not be carrying weapons, and their activities will largely be restricted to Gillies Lake and Crown Land to the south of the lake.
