Canadian Armed Forces Snowbirds Flypast Over Washington D.C.


WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - May 24, 2016) - The Canadian Armed Forces Snowbirds will conduct a flypast near the National Mall in Washington, D.C. at approximately noon on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016.

The public can expect to see the Snowbirds conduct two passes from east to west along the south edge of the National Mall at an altitude of 1000 feet above the highest obstacle. The public will see nine CT-114 Tutor aircraft flying in close formation trailing white air display smoke as well as a tenth CT-114 Tutor photo aircraft. In case of poor weather the flypast will be conducted on either 25 or 26 May, 2016.

Demonstrations by Canadian Armed Forces aircraft are carefully planned and closely controlled to ensure public safety at all times. The Snowbirds represent the skill, professionalism, and teamwork of the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Snowbirds are executing this flypast as a Friendship Salute to highlight the relationship between Canada and the United States of America.
