Canadian Association of Food Banks: More Working Poor Relying on Food Banks Despite a Drop in Overall Use, National Study Shows

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 24, 2006) -



What: The Canadian Association of Food Banks (CAFB) invites media to
attend the release of HungerCount 2006 - the only national annual
survey of food banks and emergency food programs use in Canada.

Why: CAFB representatives will reveal a national portrait of food bank
use and issue a call-to-action to all levels of government to
develop long-term strategies to end poverty and food insecurity in
our rich country.

Peter Tilley, Executive Director, Ottawa Food Bank

Representatives of the National Anti-Poverty Organization (NAPO) and
Family Service Canada will also be in attendance.
