Canadian Coast Guard Ship CCGS Des Groseilliers Heading to Canada's North Once Again

QUÉBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 6, 2012) - The Canadian Coast Guard Ship CCGS Des Groseilliers is once again setting off for Canada's North, where she will resume her search and rescue missions, icebreaking, assistance to commercial shipping and maintenance of aids to navigation and navigable waters, as well as contributing to the advancement of science.

The CCGS Des Groseilliers will resupply the most northern communities-places only accessible by ship-with fuel and merchandise.

The CCGS Des Groseilliers will follow the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador and continue on her missions until she reaches the second most northerly community in the world after Alert in Nunavut. She is scheduled to return to Québec in mid-October 2012.
