Canadian Company First to Launch Meat & Soy Blended Product Line

Chris & Tal’s Better Foods™ introduce meat & soy blended burgers, sausages, meatballs and ground beef; real meat taste and texture with half the fat, calories and cholesterol

Attention: Business/Financial Editor, Food/Beverage Editor, Health/Medical Editor, Lifestyle Editor, News Editor TORONTO, CANADA, MEDIA ADVISORY--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 23, 2006) - Move over greasy meat products and tasteless vegetarian mock-meat. Chris & Tal's Better Foods™ has announced the launch of its full line of meat and soy blended products. Following the successful introduction of its Bet·ter Burger™, the company is releasing its Bet·ter Meatball™, Bet·ter Sausage™ and Bet·ter Ground™.

"Our proprietary blend of lean meat and premium-grade textured soy protein has consistently ranked higher in taste than leading all-meat products, yet offers half the fat, half the calories and half the cholesterol," says Tal Rosenbloom, Co-Founder of Chris & Tal's Better Foods™. "The product line eliminates the health vs. taste compromise consumers have been forced to accept from either all meat or all soy offerings".

Found in many leading retailers in Ontario, Chris & Tal's Bet·ter Burger™ along with Chris and Tal's Swiss Mushroom Bet·ter Burger™ have been the talk of Toronto since their April 2006 debut. This winter, the proven formula will carry over into other meat entrees. Chris & Tal's Italian Bet·ter Meatball™ and Asian-inspired Bet·ter Meatball™ deliver a great homemade taste but with 75% less fat and 60% fewer calories. Their pork and soy blended Garlic Bet·ter Sausage™ and Italian Bet·ter Sausage™ are sinfully succulent, yet offer 70% less fat, 70% less sodium, and 60% fewer calories.

To further integrate their innovation into consumers' kitchens, Chris & Tal's Better Foods™ is launching its Bet·ter Ground™, a great substitute in recipes calling for ground beef. "Consumers will now be able to use Bet·ter Ground™ in their tacos, Sheppard's pie and spaghetti sauce, secure in the knowledge that their dishes are both delicious and healthy," says Chris Bower, Co-Founder of Chris & Tal's Better Foods™.

All of Chris & Tal's new products are frozen and precooked, making them exceptionally easy to store and prepare. Bet·ter Meatballs™, Bet·ter Sausages™ and Bet·ter Ground™ are heat and serve and are also microwavable. "Our promise has always been better taste, better health and no compromise. We are now adding convenience to that list of promises", states Bower.

"Our meat and soy blended innovation is a breakthrough driven by consumers' desire to enjoy the real taste of meat while maintaining balanced and healthy eating habits", says Rosenbloom. "Thanks to our new line of products, consumers will be able to transform the way they incorporate meat into meals, creating full taste, but healthier versions of their favourite foods. For today's food and label-savvy consumer, this union between taste and health is the future" adds Bower.

Chris & Tal's Better Foods™ will be showcasing its new line of products at the Grocery Innovations Show in Toronto on October 23rd and 24th, and are expected to launch into market January 2007.
