Canadian Connection to JIAM

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - June 22, 2014) - June is audiobook month (JIAM). Every year, June is filled with activities intended to increase audiobook listenership. For the second year, Spoken Freely has teamed up with Going Public to celebrate JIAM by offering Summer Shorts '14, a collection of poetry, short stories and essays with sale proceeds benefitting the charity, ProLiteracy. Summer Shorts is the brainchild of award winning narrator Xe Sands. Although Summer Shorts is an American event, this year there is a strong Canadian presence.

Heather Henderson has ties to Vancouver Island. Her selection is from a classic of B.C. literature, The Curve of Time, which was recently released by Canadian publisher Post Hypnotic Press.

Stefan Rudnicki and Mark Turetsky have both lived in Canada and Carrington MacDuffie narrates the Canadian "Constable Molly Smith" mystery series.
