Canadian Council on Africa/REMINDER/Senior Level Delegation From East Africa: "East Africa-One Market One Destination"

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 11, 2009) - Ministers and high-level representatives from Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda, as well as the Secretary General of the East African Community Secretariat will be part of this important delegation coming from East Africa to meet with Canadian public and private sector members. The Honourable Monique NSANZABAGANWA, Minister Chairing the Council of EAC Ministers/Sectoral Council of Trade, Industry, Finance and Investment will lead the delegation.

Seminars will be held in Toronto and Montreal. Each seminar will explore new opportunities for investment partnerships across East Africa, including Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Burundi. The theme of the event is "Trade and Investment Opportunities: East Africa - One Market, One Destination". It will look at East Africa's progress towards a single market of 120 million citizens, with an estimated US $30 billion market potential. The seminar will also help to identify investment and partnership opportunities in tourism, mining, energy, financial services, ICT, and infrastructure.
