Canadian Country Star Helps Save Wetlands

Jason Blaine to play fundraising concert series throughout rural Manitoba

OAK HAMMOCK MARSH, MANITOBA--(Marketwired - Feb. 20, 2015) - Award-winning country music artist Jason Blaine is joining forces with Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) to help conserve Canada's wetlands.

From February 26-February 28 Blaine will be performing a three-concert series in Stonewall, Melita and Brandon to raise money for DUC's conservation efforts.

"Coming from a small town, I know all you need is a little piece of heaven to feel content," says Blaine. "I really appreciate the peace of mind nature offered during the summers I spent outdoors in my youth. With all the environmental benefits and wildlife wetlands offer, I'm proud to support Ducks Unlimited Canada so my children can find that same peace in Canadian nature when we visit back home."

Blaine's latest single "Country Side" was released in January on iTunes. It was the top-selling Canadian country single in its second week. The song has since has entered the top 20 on Country Radio.

"I'm from Pembroke, Ontario, but I now live in Nashville," says Blaine, 34. "It's humbling to know the ducks I see down in the States were born and raised in the same country as me. As a touring musician, I definitely know a thing or two about migration. I always look forward to coming back home. It makes me feel good to help Ducks Unlimited Canada conserve the natural habitat I grew up appreciating. "

Tickets can be purchased at through the Manitoba events page.

The Melita and Brandon events include dinner and VIP tables. Dates, locations and ticket prices for the concerts:

Thursday, February 26 Stonewall Lions Community Centre, Stonewall, Manitoba $50
Friday, February 27 Melita Legion Hall, Melita, Manitoba $65
Saturday, February 28 Royal Oak Inn, Brandon, Manitoba $70

Blaine has been nominated for 10 Canadian Country Music Association awards since 2004. He was awarded 2012 Single of the Year for his song "They Don't Make 'Em Like That Anymore." He will be releasing his follow-up album to 2013's Everything I Love later this year. Visit to find out more.
