Canadian Families Booking Non-traditional Summer Vacations

Due to much lower than normal pricing in the Canadian marketplace itravel2000 is reporting an extraordinary summer for value-priced package vacations for families Attention: Assignment Editor, Business/Financial Editor, Lifestyle Editor, News Editor, Travel/Tourism Editor TORONTO/ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - June 15, 2005) - Frenzied early bookings show that Canadian families are electing to book "alternative" vacations to Mexico, Cuba and the Dominican Republic this summer instead of the usual Canadian "you-drive" vacation or the traditional, and costly, European vacation. itravel2000 reports smart customers are taking advantage of pricing never seen before in the Canadian market in previous summers. There has long been an interest in "Summer Sun" but now Canadians can't help but recognize the value.

"A getaway to the Caribbean or Mexico is a cost-effective option for the Canadian family travelling this summer," says Jonathan Carroll, President of itravel2000. "Time and money are precious to us all and an all-inclusive vacation gives Mom and Dad time off to relax while the kids spend a couple of hours at the various kids' camps you'll find at resorts these days but there's also lots of great opportunities to do things together as a family."

The kids will soon be out of school so families are booking their summer vacations now which is a little later than usual and this has driven prices down and availability up - great for the consumer! A family of four can get away to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for as little as $3000.00 CAD including all applicable taxes for a family of four, when departing from Toronto. "We have never seen this kind of pricing for Summer Sun," says Carroll, "try finding a summer family vacation that's a better value than that!"

Carroll cautions that with this type of pricing and the desire to travel after a long, harsh winter and late spring, will seriously affect availability once the kids are out of school in two weeks. By booking in June for July and August consumers can ensure availability at properties with the best kids clubs and teen programs that are so important to families.
