Canadian Heritage: Appointment to Board of Trustees of the Canada Science and Technology Museum

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 29, 2008) - The Honourable Josee Verner, Minister of Canadian Heritage, Status of Women and Official Languages, today announced the appointment of Neil Russon as member of the Board of Trustees of the Canada Science and Technology Museum.

"As a successful innovator in the information technology field and with his tremendous experience, I am convinced that Mr. Russon will be a great addition to the Canada Science and Technology Museum," said Minister Verner.

Mr. Russon has acquired extensive experience in health-care administration and in the information technology sectors over the past 30 years. He recently merged his firm, Advansys Technology and Management Consulting, with two other companies to form Accreon Inc., a professional information-technology services firm. He previously worked as a director of health care for Aliant Inc., where he developed their health-care IT strategy. He has also served as chief executive officer and assistant executive director of the Extra-Mural Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Mr. Russon is currently a member of the Premier's Round Table on eNB and Innovation and is president of the Fredericton Emergency Shelter.

The Canada Science and Technology Museum Corporation is responsible for preserving and protecting Canada's scientific and technological heritage and promoting and sharing knowledge about that heritage.
