Canadian North, as part of Tenille Nadkrynechny's "Play it Forward" tour, sponsored the inspirational Alberta Country Music Association's 'Female Artist of the Year' to travel to Northwest Territories and Nunavut to share her message through music to youth to "Play…and then play it forward". The tour was dedicated to encouraging messages through music and motivational speaking, promoting positive leadership efforts for Canada's youth. Originally intended to be offered in major urban centers across Southern Canada, Canadian North was instrumental in bringing the tour to the North.

During that portion of the tour, Tenille played for schools in Yellowknife, where grade eight student, Lauren Seabrook, got to participate in the presentation as a young person that had exhibited selfless, community-minded behaviour. As one of the students that was identified in the tour, Lauren was entered into a draw from over 300 student leaders across Canada and became the lucky recipient of a $10,000 award to put towards a charity of her choice and an in-school community program. Canadian North flew Ms. Seabrook and her mother to Grande Prairie last weekend for the tour wrap-up concert held on December 14th. She was presented the cheque live on stage with Tenille.

"It was an incredible moment of the wrap-up concert presenting the cheque to Lauren and having her speak about her play it forward plans," stated Tenille. "It was such a dream having Canadian North come on board to spread the message to the North, making it truly coast to coast to coast! We loved the play it forward lifestyle up there and are so thrilled for Lauren and her community!"

"We are very proud of Tenille and were pleased to assist her with the Play It Forward tour. It is exciting to hear that Lauren Seabrook from Yellowknife won the Play It Forward contest for her charity of choice and the students of Ecole William McDonald Middle School," said Steve Hankirk, Canadian North`s President. "It was truly a perfect ending to a perfect tour for Tenille and Canadian North."
