Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission: Notice

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 23, 2006) - The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission ("the Commission") is providing SRB Technologies (Canada) Inc. (SRBT) with an opportunity to be heard, orally and in writing, on the Designated Officer Order issued to SRBT on August 15, 2006. Written submissions and information by SRBT, if any, shall be filed with the Commission no later than 14:00 on August 25, 2006.

Pursuant to subsection 37(6) of the Nuclear Safety and Control Act (NSCA), the Designated Officer referred the Order to the Commission for review on August 15, 2006. The Commission will consider the written submissions and the information provided during the proceeding in its review of the Order to confirm, amend, revoke or replace the Order.

The Commission is proceeding with the opportunity to be heard in accordance with part 6 of the CNSC Rules of Procedure. There is no opportunity for the public to be heard on this matter. However, the public is invited to attend and observe the hearing. Simultaneously interpretation will be provided only if requested to the Secretariat by close of business on August 24, 2006.
