Canadian Purina Pet Food Not Impacted By Menu Food Recall

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - March 19, 2007) - Nestle Purina PetCare confirmed this morning that the recent Menu Foods, Inc. recall does not impact Canadian Purina wet dog or wet cat products.

Ensuring the safety and quality of their pet foods is Nestle Purina's highest priority. Consumers can continue to feed Nestle Purina wet dog and wet cat food with confidence, including Fancy Feast®, Friskies®, Pro Plan®, Purina Veterinary Diet® wet cat foods, and Beneful®, Purina Veterinary Diet® wet dog foods.

In the United States, Nestle Purina PetCare Company announced a voluntary withdrawal of 5.3 ounce Mighty Dog® brand pouch products on March 16, 2007, as a precautionary measure, in response to the recall initiated by Menu Foods, Inc. The Mighty Dog® brand pouch products are not available in Canada.
