Canadian Rent-to-Own Operators Announce New National Association

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 6, 2011) - The Canadian Association of Rental Dealers (CARD) is pleased to announce its recent formation to represent rent-to-own operators across Canada. Based in Mississauga, Ontario, CARD is the new and independent voice for the industry.

"CARD is designed to be a vehicle for communication with governments and the general public on behalf of Canada's rent-to-own operators. This is very positive news for the industry and its customers," said CARD's Executive Director Simon Holmes. "CARD will help its members establish standards by which the industry can be measured."

CARD will identify common challenges and share experiences and knowledge through a singularly focused organization. CARD currently represents over 90 per cent of rent-to-own stores across Canada including easyhome, Rent-a-Center, Simply Living, Aarons, Rental City and Smart Choice.

The Founding Directors of CARD are Simply Living's CEO Simon Holmes, easyhome's President and CEO David Ingram and Rent-a-Center's Senior Vice President of Public Affairs Dwight Dumler.
