Canadian Rock Bands Unite to End Poverty

Canadian Juno nominee Faber Drive, Afternoon Zero, Sydney and The Knockouts perform at concert fundraiser

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 17, 2008) -

On April 19, Students for Justice will host the 2008 End Poverty Concert, an annual fundraiser, at the Hershey Centre with local celebrities and more than 2,000 youth. Now in its third year, this annual event brings together youth from across southern Ontario. The concert will feature performances by Canada's own Faber Drive, Afternoon Zero, Sydney and The Knockouts. All proceeds from the concerts will be donated to World Vision.

Students for Justice, a youth group from a local Mississauga church, also will host a "Battle of the Rock Bands" tournament before the concert. Groups of four will play and compete in the popular music video game Rock Band. The winning team will compete, live on stage, against performers The Knockouts for the title of Rock Band champions.



WHEN: Saturday April 19, 2008
Rock Band tournament at 4:00 p.m.
Concert doors open at 6:00 p.m.
Concert starts at 7:00 p.m.
