Canadian Society for Civil Engineering Elects Mr. Randy Pickle, P. Eng., of Morrison Hershfield Ltd.

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 20, 2011) - T R. (Randy) Pickle, a Professional Engineer licensed in Ontario and Alberta, from Oshawa, ON, was elected President of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering, (CSCE), at its 2011 Annual General Meeting in Ottawa, ON, on June 16, 2011. Mr. Pickle has held numerous positions previously with CSCE at the local, regional and national levels.

Mr. Pickle studied Civil Engineering at the University of Waterloo from 1972 to 1978 before securing a position with Totten Sims Hubicki Associates, now AECOM, in Whitby, Ontario. While at TSH, Mr. Pickle progressed to a Senior Project Manager's position in the Municipal Infrastructure Group. In 2009, Mr. Pickle joined the Infrastructure Group at Morrison Hershfield Limited, in Toronto, where he is an Associate and Senior Project Manager. Mr. Pickle's clients include numerous cities and towns in the Greater Toronto area to which he provides consulting engineering services for improvements to the aging municipal infrastructure. Mr. Pickle also serves as a consultant to Metrolinx as that transit authority expands its infrastructure to provide improved bus and rail commuter service.

In addition to his involvement with CSCE, Mr. Pickle is also currently the Chair of the Durham Community Foundation in Oshawa.

Founded in 1887, the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering is a national, not-for-profit, learned society. It is dedicated to providing civil engineers with opportunities to increase their professional development through continuing education, networking, advocacy, and publications. With a National Office in Montreal, CSCE is comprised of 20 sections across Canada, one branch in Hong Kong, and many technical and interdisciplinary committees. CSCE is a constituent society of the Engineering Institute of Canada.
