Canadian SPCA Uses Money Raised from Dog Wash to Create Foster Care Kits

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 3, 2006) - In collaboration with its sponsors Mondou, Royal Canin and Subway restaurant780 Beaubien East, the Canadian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is pleased to invite dog owners to bring their dog to a Dog Wash at the Mondou store located at 10 400 Renaude-Lapointe in Anjou from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2006. For a minimum donation of $10 volunteers will shampoo your dog and for $4 or $5, your dog's eyes and ears will be cleaned or its nails will be clipped. This event will be cancelled if it rains.

A significant portion of the funds raised from this initiative will be used to purchase supplies for the Foster Program which will be loaned to foster families. Many wish to become foster homes but hesitate due to the lack of the basic amenities required for pet care. Families who need items will be able to receive a Foster Care Kit that includes a cousion, a leash and collar and toys. Another part of the funds raised will go to the Canadian SPCA's Grooming Program. As a result of this program, animals that are groomed see their chances of being adopted.

On Saturday August 12th, 10 am media is invited to the Mondou store, located at 10 400 Renaude-Lapointe in Anjou at 10 am where an SPCA volunteer will be purchasing items for the different programs with the money raised from the Dog Wash.
